Meet the Founders: Adam & Jonas — From Irish Coffee to Cloud Revolution

When Adam and Jonas first met at work, they didn't immediately plan to build a cloud storage company. They planned to grab Irish coffee.

It became a ritual. Every Friday afternoon, two developers huddled over steaming glasses, talking about the same thing: AI is about to change everything — and nobody's storage is ready for it.

The Problem They Couldn't Ignore

Cloud storage hadn't evolved in a decade. The big players were still doing the same thing — storing files in folders, maybe syncing them across devices. But Adam and Jonas saw what was coming. AI would transform how we interact with our data. Search wouldn't mean filenames anymore. Organization wouldn't be manual. Privacy wouldn't be optional.

The tools they used at work? They weren't built for this future. They were built for 2015.

"We kept saying somebody should fix this," Jonas recalls. "Eventually we realized we were waiting for ourselves."

Born in Scandinavia, Built for the World

In early 2026, they made it official. Nottacloud launched with a simple thesis: cloud storage should be private, intelligent, and actually enjoyable to use.

Being Scandinavian wasn't incidental — it was foundational. Europe's strict privacy laws weren't a constraint to work around. They were a feature to build on. Every file stored on Nottacloud lives on European servers, powered by 100% renewable energy, protected by regulations that actually mean something.

What Makes Notta Different

Adam and Jonas didn't want to build another Dropbox clone. They wanted to build what comes after Dropbox.

  • AI-native from day one. Not bolted on as an afterthought — woven into how the product thinks about your files.
  • Privacy as architecture, not marketing. No file scanning. No training on your data. Your files are yours.
  • Speed that surprises. They obsessed over upload and download performance until reviewers started noticing.
  • Scandinavian design sensibility. Clean, minimal, functional. No clutter, no dark patterns.

The Irish Coffee Rule

To this day, Adam and Jonas have one rule: every major product decision gets discussed over Irish coffee first. Not in a boardroom. Not on Slack. Over whiskey and cream and caffeine.

"It keeps us honest," Adam says. "If an idea doesn't survive a Friday afternoon conversation, it's not ready for our users."

Just Getting Started

Nottacloud is young. 2026 young. But with over 2 million users already trusting their files to the platform, the thesis is proving out: people want storage that respects them and prepares them for what's next.

This is only the beginning.
