Academy History

Exterior view of Acting Academy

The Thespian Arts Academy was founded in 2005 by renowned acting coaches, Eleanor Ainsworth and Harrison Wells. Recognizing a need for a more comprehensive and personalized approach to acting training in Los Angeles, they established the academy with a vision to nurture talent and foster a community of passionate artists. Initially starting with a small group of students in a modest studio on Melrose Avenue, the academy quickly gained recognition for its commitment to excellence and its emphasis on both traditional and contemporary acting techniques.

As the academy's reputation grew, so did its offerings. From foundational acting classes to specialized workshops in screen acting, improvisation, and voice training, Thespian Arts Academy became a hub for aspiring actors seeking to hone their craft. In 2012, the academy relocated to its current, state-of-the-art facility on Hollywood Boulevard, providing students with access to professional-grade studios, rehearsal spaces, and a dedicated performance venue. This expansion allowed the academy to further enhance its curriculum and attract a diverse range of students from across the globe.

Over the years, Thespian Arts Academy has remained committed to its founding principles of excellence, innovation, and community. The academy's alumni have gone on to achieve success in film, television, theatre, and beyond, solidifying its position as one of the leading acting institutions in Los Angeles. Today, Thespian Arts Academy continues to evolve and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the performing arts, while remaining steadfast in its mission to empower actors to achieve their full potential.
